About Timea Kiss Nutritional Therapist

I became a nutritional therapist because conventional medicine told me there was nothing more it could do for me, and I refused to accept that.

    My Story

I am Timea Kiss, a Registered Nutritional Therapist, Nutrigenomics Specialist, and Functional Medicine Practitioner. I am also BSc (Hons) trained in Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy through the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION), validated by the University of Portsmouth. As a Nutrigenomics Specialist certified by LifecodeGx (the leading experts in nutrigenomics testing and education), I apply the latest genomics science to enable a preventative, proactive and personalised approach to health. Alongside this, I am a Functional Medicine Practitioner, certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine. I am soon to finish my “Systems Approach to Cancer” advanced cancer training by Dr. Nina Fuller-Shavel – this will allow me to take on cancer clients starting June 2026, but I am also focusing on cancer prevention.

My path into nutritional therapy was not a conventional one. From childhood, I struggled with severe allergies, asthma, and eczema. I went through countless medications, specialist appointments, and treatments, none of which ever got to the bottom of why my immune system was so reactive. Despite having a strong background in fitness and environmental sciences and always paying close attention to my diet, my symptoms continued to worsen. I was eventually told by an eczema specialist that there was nothing further that could be done and that I would need to accept my condition as a permanent part of my life.

    I Said, “Enough”

I knew there was something deeper going on. I began researching intensively and quickly recognised a profound connection between gut health, the nervous system, digestion, nutrient absorption, and immune function. That realisation sent me to the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London, one of the most respected institutions for naturopathic and nutritional training in the UK, where I trained to diploma level in Nutritional Therapy.

Through advanced functional testing, I identified the root causes that had been driving my symptoms for years – severe gut dysbiosis, leaky gut, low innate immunity, an H. pylori infection, and multiple nutritional deficiencies. By addressing each of these through a targeted naturopathic approach, I was able to resolve conditions I had been told were permanent. That experience changed everything, and it is the foundation on which my entire practice is built.

    How I Work

My approach is rooted in functional medicine, which means I look for the underlying drivers of ill health rather than focusing solely on managing symptoms at the surface level. Every client I work with receives a thorough, individualised assessment that takes into account their full health history, their diet and lifestyle, their stress levels, their sleep, their environment, and, where appropriate, the results of advanced functional lab testing.

I do not believe in one-size-fits-all protocols. The same diagnosis can look completely different from one person to the next, and what works brilliantly for one client may be entirely wrong for another. This is why I invest the time to understand each person’s unique picture before building a plan, and why my clients consistently describe finally feeling heard and understood, often after years of being passed from specialist to specialist without resolution.

My style is warm, down-to-earth, and practical. I am not interested in overwhelming people with information they cannot use or prescribing sweeping lifestyle overhauls that are impossible to sustain. I want the people I work with to understand what is happening in their body, to feel genuinely supported, and to leave each session with clear, achievable steps that fit around their real life.

I specialise in gut health, immune health, hormonal wellbeing, autoimmune conditions, and perimenopause, helping people find the root causes of their symptoms rather than simply learning to live with them.

    Areas Of Expertise

My clinical focus spans several interconnected areas of health. Gut health and digestive dysfunction sit at the centre of much of my work, reflecting both my personal experience and the growing body of evidence linking gut health to virtually every aspect of wellbeing. I have particular expertise in gut dysbiosis, leaky gut, SIBO, IBS, and the relationship between gut health and immune function.

I work extensively with autoimmune conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, endometriosis, lupus, and many others. I specialise in perimenopause nutrition, helping women navigate hormonal transition with evidence-based nutritional and lifestyle support. I also work with clients managing type 2 diabetes and metabolic dysfunction, chronic fatigue, skin conditions including eczema and acne, hormonal imbalances, and complex allergy and histamine-related conditions.

Across all of these areas, my approach is the same – thorough assessment, evidence-based practice, advanced testing where appropriate, and a genuinely personalised plan built around the individual in front of me.

    My Qualifications

I hold a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy from the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London and a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Sciences. I am a qualified Nutrigenomics Specialist and Functional Medicine Practitioner, and I hold additional qualifications in safe supplementation.

I am registered with BANT and CNHC, the two leading professional bodies for nutritional therapists in the UK. Registration with both organisations requires practitioners to meet rigorous standards of education, clinical practice, and continuing professional development. I am also fully insured.

I work with clients both in person and online, and I see clients across the UK and internationally via online consultation.

    What My Clients Say

The feedback I receive from clients is what drives me most. People come to me having often spent years in a cycle of symptoms, appointments, and partial answers. What they consistently describe after working together is not just an improvement in their physical health, but a shift in their entire relationship with their body – a sense of finally understanding what has been happening and feeling equipped to take care of themselves in a way that lasts.

Clients have described working with me as life-changing, transformative, and unlike anything they had experienced in conventional care. They talk about renewed energy, resolved symptoms they had been told were permanent, and the confidence that comes from genuinely understanding their own health. That is what nutritional therapy, done properly, can achieve, and it is why I do this work every day.

    • I started my programme with Timea as I discovered I’m intolerant to gluten, dairy and cane sugar. I’m also diabetic type 1, so there were a lot of things that needed to change, and I had no idea where to start or what to do. She helped me a lot with her advice and knowledge, and guided me in this journey. Because of her, I was able to change my lifestyle and food behaviour.
